General Informtion For Authors

Statement of editorial policies

The IJHEM is a scholarly and refereed journal that provides an authoritative source of information for scholars, academicians, and professionals in the fields of Higher Education Management. The journal promotes the advancement, understanding, and practice of teaching and learning. Manuscripts offering theoretical, conceptual, and practical contributions are encouraged.


Formal condition of acceptance


1. Papers will only be published in English.
2. Each typescript must be accompanied by a statement that it has not been submitted for publication elsewhere in English.
3. Previous presentation at a conference, or publication in another language, should be disclosed.
4. All papers are refereed, and the Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to refuse any manuscript, whether on invitation or otherwise, and to make suggestions and/or modifications before publication.
5. IJHEM only accepts and publishes articles for which authors have agreed to release under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution Licence (CCAL) version “CC BY 3.0”. Please note that authors retain ownership of the copyright for their article, but authors allow anyone to download, reuse, and reprint, modify, distribute, and/or copy articles in IJHEM, so long as the original authors are source are cited. No permission is required from the authors or the publishers.
6. ABRM shall furnish authors of accepted papers with proofs for the correction of printing errors. The proofs shall be returned within 14 days of receiving the suggested corrections. ABRM shall not be held responsible for errors which are the result of authors' oversights
7. IJHEM is committed to publish all full text articles online for immediate open access to readers and there is no charge to download articles and editorial comments for their own scholarly use.

Peer Review Process

ABRM places great emphasis on the quality of the articles it publishes; and therefore, a full double - blind refereeing process is used in which:


• Subject to the condition that the paper submitted is in line with the guidelines provided for authors the editor will review its suitability given the aims and objectives of the journal.
• If the outcome is positive the paper will be sent for blind reviews to two reviewers.
• Decision will be taken as to the acceptability of the paper on the basis of the recommendation of the reviewers.
• Should further revision be found necessary it will be communicated to the author accordingly.
• Based on the outcome of above the date of publication will be decided and acceptance letter to be issued to the author(s).
• For papers which require changes, the same reviewers will be used to ensure that the quality of the revised article is acceptable.

Manuscript submission guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original research papers, case studies, reviews, work in progress reports, abstracts, student’s papers or research proposals within the broad scope of the conference and Journal. The following guidelines must be adhered to when submitting the papers: No Manuscript will be accepted without the Required Format. All Manuscripts Should Be Professionally Proofread Before the Submission

1. Introduction
Manuscript should be written in English and should be submitted to the Editor-in-chief electronically through the online system as e-mail attachment to editor@abrmr.com
If electronic media is not available, the original paper may be submitted on standard CD to the Editor by using full postal address which is, The Academy of Business & Retail Management, 79 College Road, Harrow, HA1 1BD, United Kingdom.
Manuscripts are to be submitted as MS Word documents for Windows. Other formats will not be accepted
2. Manuscript Format
  2.1 Margin: Set the paper size to A4 with 25mm margins on all side
  2.2 Fonts: The font to be used is Book Antiqua in 12 point pitch. Headings-16 and subheadings-14. Please use BOLD for paper title.
  2.3 Major and secondary headings must be BOLD, left-justified and in lower case.
  2.4 Spacing: The body of the papers should be single spaced.
  2.5 Length of the Paper: The paper length should not exceed 15 pages maximum including figures, tables, references and appendices.
  2.6 Paragraphing: A blank line between paragraphs should be left without indent.
3. Structure of the Manuscript
  3.1 Covering page
The front page of the manuscript must be organised as follows:
Title of the Article –Paper title to be centred.
Author (s) name (s) and their Organisation’s name-Both should be centred.
Key words (maximum 6)
A brief abstract (maximum 250 words, font 12 and in italics)
One blank line should be left between the paper title and name of author(s) and between author(s) name and affiliation
3.2 Rest of the manuscript
From the second page the rest of manuscript should be included the introduction/background, main body of the paper which can be divided into section and sub-sections. Section and sub-section should be numbered and should be typed in BOLD. The manuscript should be organised as follows:
The Introduction
Main body of the paper with sections and sub-sections
Discussions and conclusions
Research limitations and direction for further research
Appendices (if any)
3.3 Use of Table, Figures and Equations
All tables are to be centred and numbered sequentially, with their title centred below the table
All figures must be reproduced black and white. A good quality graphic software to be used and figures are to be centred with the caption to be centred below the figure
All equations must be typeset with the same word processor and type in Math type (please visit the website at www.mathtype.com for free limited trial).
3.4 References
The Harvard System of referencing should be used for all manuscript(s) submitted to ABRM`s Conferences and Journals for all sources. All sources should be listed together; there should not be separate lists for books, journal articles and electronic sources. Making a list of what you have used must be appropriate to the type of source used; the details you need to record will vary according to the source
